Supplied as standard with the PrinCE/-C 700 systems, DAx 3D builds upon the DAx platform, offering Data Acquisition and Data Analysis functionality in addition to analytical control.

Combined peak list
DAx 3D searches for peaks in individual traces pertaining to wavelengths or wavelength ranges. Combined peak lists display a cumulative list of peaks found in all traces in a trace window.
Peak Purity
DAx 3D is able to determine peak purity by comparing the spectrum at the beginning of a peak with the spectrum at the end of a peak. The relative peak height where these spectra should be taken can be specified. The correlation between the early and late spectra is used as a measure for peak purity. A high degree of correlation indicates that a spectrum that has changed little during the peak, making it likely that the peak contains a single pure compound.
Spectral Library
DAx 3D offers a spectral library with the following features.
- Spectra can be measured and stored in the library, including descriptions. GLP tracking information is also stored, so that the user can always determine when a spectrum was measured, and if it was filtered, etc.
- The user can define spectral sets. These are collections that contain some or all of the spectra in the library. Spectral sets are used, for instance, to group spectra that were measured under certain conditions together.
- The library offers maintenance options, such as adding or removing spectra, adding or removing spectral sets, adding or removing spectra from spectral sets.
- The spectra in a spectrum window can be compared to the spectra in a spectral set or in the entire library. Correlation is determined. The spectra in the library can be sorted according to correlation (or name, or measurement date, or description). One or more of the spectra can then be loaded from the spectrum, and treated as if they were just measured. This includes the ability to perform mathematical operations between spectra.
- DAx uses an identification database to recognise compounds in traces, based principally on their time coordinate. The user may specify that a possibly recognised compound must have a minimum correlation with a specified spectrum in the spectral library to be accepted as recognised. It is also possible to specify that a «library compound» is to be recognised when its spectrum in the measurement has a minimum specified correlation with any spectrum in a specified spectral set.
Reports
As in earlier versions of DAx, completely user configurable reports can be created, containing 3D color plots, trace plots, and spectrum plots. The combined peak list can also be displayed as part of a report.
